Spirit of ADA awards, Burlington

Holly Laber
Green Mountain Electric Supply
Colchester, Vermont

The Governor’s Committee on the Employment of People with Disabilities recognizes Holly Laber as a recipient of the Spirit of ADA Award for 2015.

This award is presented to individuals and businesses who reflect the spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act in employment practices, including accessibility, recruiting, hiring, accommodating and support of a person(s) with disability as
an overall employment strategy.

With a growing company in two locations, Holly Laber reached out to Creative Workforce Solutions for potential employees. She has hosted customized training programs for dozens of Creative Workforce Solutions candidates. She strongly desired to move candidates into competitive employment through progressive employment options, in addition to competitive employment within her company. One notable success story is of a man with severe anxiety who remarkably was able to enter the workforce beginning with a part time warehouse position. Within a year he was promoted to a full time position and again to the evening Warehouse Manager as well as training leadership role within the company.

Nicole Clements of Creative Workforce Solutions nominated Holly Laber for this award. Because Holly Laber has gone above and beyond to seek out candidates and to assist them in getting the training and paid positions they seek, and because she demonstrates an openness to understanding needs and implements strategies that lead to success, the Governor’s Committee on the Employment of People with Disabilities proudly presents Holly Laber with the Spirit of ADA Award for 2015.
