Morrisville, March 20, 2015
Matt Farnham, Associate Relations Manager, Hannaford, Morrisville was recognized for his assistance and support of National Groundhog Job Shadow Day, 2015 (NGJSD). Diane Dolan, Copley Hospital and Member, Governor’s Committee on the Employment of People With Disabilities and DJ Masi, Creative Workforce Solutions, presented Mr. Farnham with a Certificate of Appreciation of his outstanding support and participation in this important workforce development initiative.
NGJSD participants are paired with a mentor who they will “shadow” for part or a full day to experience how their skills can be applied to new settings. This event also provides an opportunity to introduce future employees to the vast array of careers available in various industries, such as manufacturing, hospitality, education/human services, healthcare and the skilled trades. NGJSD is a national campaign that gives candidates a new perspective on careers through hands-on learning in the workplace.
“Mr. Farnham was instrumental in working with the Creative Workforce Solutions Morrisville employment team by meeting with team members and connecting candidates to Hannaford managers, creating opportunities for individuals to understand a day in the life of working in a customer service environment and how they can apply their strengths and skills,” explained Diane Dolan, local Member of the GCEPD. “Matt has gone above and beyond to create alternative ways for candidates to explore careers and employment opportunities, Groundhog Job Shadow day being just one of them.”
