Price Chopper in West Rutland wins spirit of ADA award

Dave Bishop, Manager of Price Chopper in West Rutland. Dave, is highly supportive of employing people with disabilities and he opened his business doors to an in school youth who was in need of one-on-one support from a job coach or Para educator. Dave Bishop set a goal of creating a work experience that would lead to competitive employment for this individual. In time this led to employee cross training and an expansion of skill sets from working with paper good products to front-end bagging. As one consequence of successful employment, this individual has improved tremendously on communication skills. With Dave Bishop’s outstanding dedication in providing for an inclusive and supportive workplace, to date this employee has enjoyed nearly two full years of competitive employment.
