DHMC Project Search Graduation

The Project SEARCH Transition Program is a unique, business led, one-year school-to-work program that takes place entirely at the workplace. Total workplace immersion facilitates a seamless combination of classroom instruction, career exploration, and hands-on training through worksite rotations. The primary goal of the program is for each young adult to build skills that will lead towards competitive employment. I am on the business advisory council, and Transition Counselor Jess West is on the steering committee. We were proud to attend the graduation ceremony for this year’s participants on Tuesday, June 4th along with LLC Counselor Samantha Brennan and VABIR EC Lorie Walters, all from the WRJ Office—there wasn’t a dry eye in the room and ALL 6 GRADS have received offers for competitive employment upon graduation!
